Mrs. Sullivan's Reflection

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” (Walt Disney) My two favorite places on Earth, Malden Catholic High School Malden, MA and Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida! As an instructor who provides academic support across all grade levels, I am privileged to assist students in a variety of subjects. Each day, our students work diligently as we move along in our third quarter. First-year students have settled into strong academic routines modeled nicely by our sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” We call our students at MC to be the best versions of themselves that they can be. They strive to be the best Lancers they can be through dedication to studies, hard work each day and perseverance in all endeavors. Is this not what the mastermind behind one of the most magical places on earth once did?

As snowflakes flutter down from the sky during the winter months, our students at Malden Catholic are busy writing papers, studying for tests, visiting colleges, and completing nightly homework assignments. Our seniors are awaiting college acceptances while our juniors are just beginning the process of investigating what they might like to pursue on the collegiate level and where they would like to pursue their dreams. Our students in grades 9 and 10 are busy building their dossiers with good grades, leadership positions, and club and sport member participation as they begin to plan for college in the next few years.

As parents of three college/graduate students, my husband and I have always encouraged our children to work hard, study a subject you enjoy learning about and remain focused on the task at hand. Our oldest daughter Maribeth is pursuing her graduate degree in education and has designs on being an elementary school teacher, while our middle daughter, Kaitlyn, is pursuing her dream of being an artist as she pursues her bachelor's degree in painting. Our youngest, Sean, is working diligently at Northeastern University as a third-year mechanical/aeronautical engineering student and aspires to be part of the team that sends an astronaut to Mars soon! Everyone is making progress each day and everyone is pursuing his or her dream.

The Xaverian values of simplicity, humility, compassion, trust, and zeal are lived at Malden Catholic High School by administration, faculty, staff, and students. Placing our trust in God in paramount. As Jesus said in Matthew 19:26 “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” As we find ourselves working diligently each day to achieve an objective, let us take a few minutes to say a prayer and know that God will give us what we need as He has planned.

Stacey Sullivan I have worked at MC since 2017. My husband Jack and I have been married for 35 years and have three children. I hold an M.Ed. from Curry College and a BA in Sociology from Framingham State University.
