This summer, Malden Catholic is proud to restore a grand tradition, the Malden Catholic Leadership Institute, a four-day, three-night retreat at Endicott College in Beverly. For many years, this MCLI experience has been the summit of what all our other retreats have built up to. An immersive, faith-filled, service-oriented opportunity to grow as a class, as a school, and as a Church. Your child will hear talks from amazing speakers, participate in group exercises to build trust and communication skills, serve people in need, spend quality time with one another, pray together, and grow in fellowship and faith.
This experience will take place in the summer, from August 4th to the 7th. Students will be dropped off on Thursday morning (they may not drive themselves up), and stay in dorms with friends, partaking in the retreat for the next few days, until you can come up and join us on Sunday morning for Mass, after which you may pick up your child and go home.
The cost for this is $350 with a deposit of $100 due by Friday, April 15th.
Due to the fact that we will be together in close quarters quite a lot and that we will be spreading out to different service sites around the North Shore, we have made it a requirement that any students that go must be fully vaccinated. I realize that this may not be agreeable to everyone, but the safety of our students, the people we are serving, and the MC Community as a whole is a paramount issue for us and it is necessary to be as prepared and safe as possible.
While we would like to have the entire Junior class join us in this, unfortunately, due to space, we will have to limit the amount of participants to no more than 130.
We will have a meeting for all parents interested at MC on Monday, May 2nd, in order to address questions and concerns. In the meantime, if there are other specific questions you have, please contact Mr. Eamonn Casey '94, P'25 at caseye@maldencatholic.org.
