Our Essential Future Campaign: Final Stretch

$23.5 million raised. $1.5 million to go.  Help us finish the campaign strong.

Malden Catholic has much to be grateful for. In just a few short years, the generosity of our community has made the vision for 50 Crystal Street a reality.

Through the Our Essential Future Campaign, more than 160 donors have helped raise $23.5 million toward our $25 million goal in cash and pledges. This extraordinary support reflects a shared belief in Malden Catholic’s mission and in the opportunities this new facility will create for generations of students.

But our work is not yet finished. We are now focused on raising the final $1.5 million needed to complete the campaign and ensure that Malden Catholic can move forward with the least amount of debt possible.

With your continued support, we will finish strong and secure the future of Malden Catholic for the next generation. Please consider making a gift by clicking here or contacting Sean Hurley '97, VP of Advancement, at hurleys@maldencatholic.org.

Multiply Your Impact Through Planned Giving

Bob Higgins '64 Offers $5 Million Match Challenge

Members of the Malden Catholic community are invited to take advantage of an incredibly generous opportunity from Bob Higgins ’64, Co-Chair of the Our Essential Future Campaign.  Bob has committed $5 million in matching funds for documented planned gifts to Malden Catholic.

With the $25 million goal for 50 Crystal Street cash and pledges, the $15 million goal for planned gifts and the goal of $5 million of giving towards operations MC's $45 million Our Essential Future Campaign will transform our Campus.

By including MC in your estate plans, you can help the school reach $10 million in documented planned gifts as part of the overall campaign goal while ensuring that Malden Catholic continues to thrive for the next 90 years and beyond.

Planned gifts are a powerful way to strengthen Malden Catholic’s future while leaving a legacy.  To learn more about the Higgins Challenge and leaving your mark on MC for years to come, contact Gregory Maynard, Director of Major Gifts, Strategic Initatives and Planned Giving at gmaynard@maldencatholic.org.

Campaign Pillars

1. Start a Middle School

In response to overwhelming demand from MC's current families, MC started a middle school in the 2025-26 school year with over 155 students.  The co-divisional 7th and 8th grade uses 50 Crystal Street where it has 12 state-of-the-art classrooms, its owns Division Leader, School Counselor, Nurse and Learning Specialist.  In addition to foundational skills in English, history, science, math, theology and world languages, the MC Readiness program provides collaborative courses in Study Skills, Advisory and Academic Reinforcement.  The overall program gives students the necessary background to continue their studies at an accelerated rate in 9th grade.

2. Elevate MC's Athletic Facilities

With three consecutive Boys Basketball MIAA State Championships and a growing athletic program featuring over 28 diverse sports and 56 teams, MC stands at the forefront of athletic achievement. To continue this legacy and support our student-athletes' growth, leadership, and success, we recognize the imperative of expanding our athletic facilities including the following:

  • Donovan Fieldhouse - A 32,000 square-foot indoor turf field, providing a versatile space for various sports and activities.
  • Passacantilli Gymnasium - A 6,000 square-foot basketball court, designed to inspire teamwork, skill development, and competitive spirit.
  • Grant Fitness Center - A cutting-edge wellness center equipped with a state-of-the-art weight room, promoting physical fitness and overall student well-being

3. Expand MC's Academic Programs

As part of 50 Crystal Street MC has developed specific classrooms designed for today's students including

  • The Higgins Entrepreneurship Program - introduction of two Entrepreneurship classes, venture competition and a home for 65+ students who compete in MC's DECA program for aspiring entrepreneurs and business students
  • The McDonough Biomedical Engineering lab - introduction of four biomedical engineering classes and a joint venture with Harvard Medical School for MC students to learn about different fields of medicine
  • Dedicated classroom for Financial Literacy with over 200 MC students completing classes in Financial Literacy each year
