The MC Fund is the cornerstone of philanthropy at Malden Catholic. Also known as the Annual Fund, the MC Fund runs annually from July 1 to June 30. The current cost of a MC education exceeds the amount of full tuition, making Malden Catholic one of the best values in Catholic education in New England.

The MC Fund provides annual, flexible dollars to support innovative programs and priorities for students. The Fund accelerates the process in which the school can respond to the ever-rising expectation for academic excellence and innovative learning opportunities.

Support for the Fund makes it possible to enhance academic innovation, arts and athletic programming, provide tuition assistance and scholarships, and strengthen our vibrant community.

Year after year, the generosity of our Malden Catholic alumni, Girls Catholic High School alumnae, parents of current students, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends has helped Malden Catholic become what it is today.

The Malden Catholic Fund benefits every student. Support for the Malden Catholic Fund makes it possible to enhance academic innovation, arts and athletic programming, provide tuition assistance and scholarships, and strengthen our vibrant community.

Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage employees and retirees to contribute to non-profit organizations. If your company has a Matching Gift Program, you can maximize your personal contribution to Malden Catholic! Support MC Through Your Donor Advised Fund

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine tax benefits while supporting Malden Catholic. If you have a DAF, you know it is a unique giving tool. At any time, you can recommend a distribution to us. Your gift comes from funds you have already set aside for charitable purposes; so, there is no impact on your current budget.

DAF Direct allows you to donate grants to Malden Catholic easily and directly. Donors can also name Malden Catholic as a beneficiary of a Donor Advised Fund. A Donor Advised Fund distribution is subject to IRS charitable contribution restrictions.

To help Malden Catholic process your gift and send you the appropriate tax receipt, please contact the Malden Catholic Advancement Office directly via email, telephone, postal service fax and provide the following information:

1.      Name of the donor

2.      Name of the stock to be transferred

3.      Number of shares and/or approximate gift value

4.      Gift designation (Malden Catholic Fund, Capital Gift)

Gift Date and Valuation are determined per IRS regulations. The official gift date is the date the shares arrive in the Malden Catholic account. The value of the stock is the average of the high and low per share (mean market value) on the date of gift.

In most cases, donors with individual retirement accounts must begin making withdrawals at a certain age and are subject to income tax. But the U.S. tax laws now permit donors to make charitable withdrawals from their IRAs of up to $100,000 per year starting at the age of 70 ½. If the donor transfers the IRA proceeds directly to a charity, the donor is relieved of any tax liability on the withdrawal. Speak to your financial advisor about this option.

Consider making a QCD from your IRA to satisfy all or a portion of your required minimum distribution (RMD) by making a gift to Malden Catholic. Don't forget, your QCD and RMDs have to be completed before year-end so make sure to consult with your financial advisor to determine the correct procedure to accomplish the gift.
