Loss 0-12
Saturday morning was not as bright for our Lady lancers as expected! MC just couldn't get on track and was too inexperienced to stop the Austin Prep attack. Some great stick work by Lilly Van Campen, Elena Rotondo, and Antonia DiZoglio, and some good defensive play by Maggie McCobb, Veronica Hill, and Maeve Byrne just wasn't enough to stop AP from scoring multiple times. Next week MC will face two opponents on back-to-back days (Thursday and Friday) and should get back in the winning column!

Win 5-0
With our regular goalie hurt, Olivia LeBella stepped up and posted the teams second shut out and our second victory of this 202 season. Lorianna Luongo led the way with a goal and an asst. as our Lancers rolled over their opponents from the "Vok." Great stick work allowed Senior Shadel Kibirge Senkandwa the opportunity to make a great pass into the circle for our second goal. Other goals were scored by Madison Perry, Lily Van Campen, Capt. Maddie Ragucci, and Elena Rotondo. Our Lancers now head west to St. Bernards HS.

Tie 1-1
Meeting for the 2nd time this season, MC faced off against Weymouth High in what turned out to be a great return match. After Weymouth won the first game 5-0 earlier in the season, our Lancers had nothing but revenge in mind of this beautiful Saturday afternoon. With only 22 seconds passed in the game, Elena Rotondo's 3rd goal of the season put the MC Lancers ahead 1-0! Weymouth scored early in the second quarter and the following 35 minutes were full of back and forth, none stop action! Olivia LaBella and Ashley Reardon shared the goal tending chores while Gabby Andujar and Veronica Hill led the defense to a 2nd half shut down if WHS. This tie brought the newly formed varsity field hockey team's record to 2 wins , 3 losses and 1 tie in the first half of the season. With the next stop this Monday at Lowell Voc. where we hope to even our record!

Loss 0-8
Notre Dame came to MC on a day the our Lancers just couldn't seem to get things going. ND scored 4 goals in the 1st quarter and the tone was set for the day. MC fought hard and limited ND to 4 goals over the remaining 3 quarters but just could not keep the ball in the offensive end of the field. We look forward to playing Ursuline next week and will hopefully get our record back to the .500 mark!

Loss 3-5
Back and forth is the best way to describe today's loss vs. Ursuline. With 6 minutes to go the MC Lancers go the game within 1 goal at 3-4 but a quick reversal of luck and the score was converted to a 5-3 loss. Ashley Reardon kept the game close as she made 9 saves in goal but the overpowering attack was too much to stop. Stepping up on defense was Nora Reilly as she continually charged the ball and turned defense into offense with one after another stop and reverse stroke. Thursday night MC will face Marblehead as our match to the state tournament continues!

Loss 1-6
After an early season loss of 12-0 MC took on Austin Prep with more vigor and intensity and it showed throughout the game. Despite eventually losing 6-1 the Lancers left nothing behind and were on the attack the entire game! The lone goal was scored by Freshmen, Avi Panacopoulos, as she took a long pass and drove the ball into the 4 hole, just beating the goalie. Playing defense for the first time and really stepping it up was Sophomore, M.K Zablocki, as she kept AP at bay despite their numerous attacks. With 1 game left in the regular season the MC lancers hope and plan to defeat Ursuline Monday, and establish themselves as one of the more formidable teams in the league.
