MC Weight Room

More Than a Weight Room

Strength & Conditioning at Malden Catholic is more than a weight room. It is a cornerstone of the Lancer RISE Model, our unified system for elevating every Lancer through athletic development, academic success, and a champion mindset. Students and student-athletes who train here are coached to get stronger, move better, and compete with confidence, while building the discipline, durability, and mindset that carry from the weight room to the classroom and into life. The result is a true competitive edge for every Lancer. Our unified approach is strengthened through integration in:

  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Health & Wellness
  • Sport Science & Data Analytics
  • Nutrition
  • Sports Medicine
  • Counseling
  • Dining Services

Under one standard, our mission is to use strength and conditioning as a vehicle for positive change, helping every Lancer build confidence and grow into their best self.

The Lancer RISE Model

A campus-wide system grounded in four pillars:

R — RESILIENCE
Develop physically and mentally strong students through movement literacy, mental skills, and character development.

I — INTEGRATION
Align Strength & Conditioning, Health & Wellness, Sport Science & Data Analytics, Nutrition, Sports Medicine, Counseling, and Dining Services into one coordinated system.

S — SCIENCE
Use data and technology to guide training, reduce injury risk, and support decision-making.

E — EDUCATION
Deliver a vertically and horizontally aligned system within academics and athletics that equips students with lifelong knowledge of health, performance, and wellness.

One System. One Standard. One Malden Catholic. All Lancers RISE.

How We Develop Lancers

Movement Literacy → Strength Development → Athletic Performance → Lifelong Wellness

Younger students build a foundation of safe, confident movement. As they mature, training advances toward strength, speed, and performance for those who compete, always aimed at sustainable habits that last well beyond their time at Malden Catholic.

Sport Science & Technology

Malden Catholic trains with the same performance technology used at the college and professional levels. Using force plates, isometric strength testing, timed sprint testing, and velocity-based training (VBT), our staff measures how each athlete jumps, lands, sprints, and produces force, turning objective data into smarter, safer training. This data-informed approach guides athletic development and monitors readiness, so athletes train smarter, stay healthier, and develop the measurable progress that prepares them to compete at the next level.

Safe, Supervised & Age-Appropriate

Every session is led by qualified, certified Strength & Conditioning Coaches using evidence-based programming scaled to each student's stage of development, so a 7th grader and a varsity senior are each challenged appropriately and safely. Our program is structured around the standards and safety principles of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), the global authority in strength and conditioning, spanning coaching supervision, program design, education, and facility management.

NSCA School of Distinction Recognition

Malden Catholic is proud to be named an NSCA School of Distinction (2026–2029). Awarded by the National Strength & Conditioning Association, this international recognition honors K–12 schools that meet the highest standards in strength and conditioning across program supervision, administration, education, and facility management. The distinction places Malden Catholic among a select group of schools worldwide, leading the way in safe, high-quality student strength and conditioning.
