Entering Freshman (Boys & Girls)

2. Complete the Archdiocesan Entrance Exam:

Test Dates: October 28, November 18 or December 2, 2017

  • You may take the exam at Malden Catholic. Plan to have your test results sent to all schools to which you apply
  • The exam fee is $40, and you must register online at boston.stsusers.com
  • Exam results will be sent to your email by the testing company

3. Complete and submit the Transcript Record Form:

Bring the form to your current teacher, principal or guidance counselor.

4. Submit two letters of recommendation:

  • When completing the online application, you will have the option to electrically send recommendation forms to school officials.
  • We request two recommendation letters from individuals who can speak on your behalf academically.
  • If you choose to do so, you may submit another recommendation speaking on your character.

5. Arrange a school visit/interview:

  • We encourage our applicants (boys) to spend a school day with us as part of our Shadow Program. These students who do spend a day with us will have their interviews while they are at Malden Catholic and do not need to schedule it on a separate date.
  • We also encourage our applicants for the School for Girls inaugural class of 2022 to interview.

International Students (Boys Only)

Grades 9-11 Applicants

(BOYS)

Students must be academically qualified and complete the equivalent of 8th, 9th or 10th grade. An inability to speak functional English will prohibit a student’s acceptance.

2. Submit results of the IELTS or TOEFL Internet-based Test (Test of English as a Foreign Language).

Malden Catholic is school code 2065 for the TOEFL. For information on the TOEFL IBT, click here.

3. The student must have a representation:

By an Agent, Host Family or guardian in the Boston-area who, upon acceptance, will accompany the student to an interview at Malden Catholic during the required International Orientation in August. (Click here for a list of approved agencies).

7. Copy of applicant’s birth certificate

Submit a recent physical form or health record, including immunizations and results of a TB test.

Deadlines and Dates:

Applications for September entrance are due by May 1; applications for January entrance are due by October 30

  • Attend International Student Orientation
    This event occurs 2 weeks prior to the academic year beginning and is mandatory to attend.
  • Accepted students must submit the Enrollment Contract
  • Submit a Student Information Form
