Tomaz Silveira '23 Raises Money to Buy Socks for Homeless Children

Just before going on Thanksgiving break, Tomaz Silveira, a sophomore, took it upon himself to raise money to purchase socks for people who live on the margins of our society. Tomaz raised enough money to purchased 180 pairs of socks and donated them to Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit organization in Newton, MA that provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school, and play in the greater Boston area.

Tomaz is the epitome of what it means to be a Malden Catholic High School student who embraces the values of simplicity, humility, compassion, trust, and zeal.
