MALDEN, MA (September 5, 2018) – Malden Catholic Acting Headmaster Bro. Thomas J. Puccio, C.F.X. and Athletic Director Mr. Patrick Driscoll announced today that Malden Catholic has named Michael A. Collett Head Varsity Hockey Coach. “I’m excited to announce and welcome Michael Collett to the Malden Catholic community,” said Driscoll, “and I’m confident that Michael’s experience and knowledge of the game will continue the excellent tradition of hockey at Malden Catholic.”
Replacing decorated former Head Coach John McLean, Collett brings to Malden Catholic ample experience as a player at the high school and collegiate levels, and a coach at the high school, junior, and collegiate levels. A graduate of Archbishop Williams and member of the Archbishop Williams High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Collett was a four-year member of the Northeastern University Men’s Ice Hockey Team from 1992-1996 and a Hockey East All-Star in 1996.
Collett’s coaching experience includes stints as Head Coach of the New England Bulldogs, the Northern Cyclones, and the Greater Boston Vipers. In 2013, Collett founded the Massachusetts Northern Junior Blackhawks. Most recently, Collett has served as the Head Hockey Coach at Nashoba Valley Technical High School since 2016.
