MC Seniors Volunteer at Joey Fund Premiere Supporting Cystic Fibrosis Research

This past Sunday evening, ten Malden Catholic seniors, accompanied by Mr. Sean Hurley and Brother Thomas Puccio, volunteered at the 40th Annual Joey Fund Film Premiere to support Cystic Fibrosis research. The evening began with a cocktail reception and speaking program at Boston’s Revere Hotel, followed by the premiere of "The Fire Within" at the AMC Theater on Boston Common. The event welcomed over 600 supporters.

The Joey Fund was established in 1986 by the late MC alum Joe O’Donnell ’60 and his wife, Kathy, in memory of their son Joey, who passed away from childhood cystic fibrosis. Over the years, the O’Donnell family has raised more than $300,000 for cystic fibrosis research, contributing to significant breakthroughs in combating the disease.

A memorial tribute to Joe O’Donnell will be featured in the upcoming issue of the MC Magazine.
