Student Sculpture Donated to Holocaust Center of Boston North

Members of the Malden Catholic High School Art Club presented a sculpture to The Holocaust Center of Boston North on April 6th in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, April 21st.  The piece, titled “Boxcar Hands,” was created by students in the art club with direction from their faculty moderator, Brian O’Donnell. 

 The sculpture was received by Co-Directors of the Center, Sonia Weitz and Harriet Wacks.  It is now on display at the Center, located at the Peabody Institute Library in Peabody.

Student artists include: Robert Reinhold, a junior from Melrose; Mike Sokolowski, a sophomore from Chelsea; and An Truong, Erik Jensen, Will Fava, and Zack Krigman, all juniors from Malden.

About the Holocaust Center

The Holocaust Center, Boston North Inc. is part of the Peabody Institute Library's Center for the Study of  Human Rights. The Center commemorates historical events through programming and a unique collection of books, videos, and archives.  The Center's goals are: to document and to preserve history; to reduce hatred, prejudice, ignorance and indifference through education; to prevent future tragedies through the study of the universal lessons of this period.
