Homework and Grading Policy
1. All Homework is typed unless otherwise noted by the teacher, if handwritten, only blue or black ink is acceptable.
2. Grading is done on a point-value system. Students will be able to determine their own grades throughout the year by comparing what they get to the point value.
3. First draft work is never acceptable. When typing assignments students are required to use spell check and to review work for sentence errors before handing the work in.
4. Writing is an important skill and essential for students to be able to express ideas, think critically and apply content learned to life situations. Students will be expected to clearly and appropriately express their thoughts, opinions and understandings.
5. Grammar, spelling and sentence structure will be part of the grade consideration.
6. Sufficient assignments will be given each marking period in order for students to achieve a grade that reflects their ability. These assignments will be varied and creative in order to meet the needs and abilities of the students.
7. Extra Credit will not be given. A sufficient number of assignments will be given in each marking period in order for the student to succeed.
