The virtual bookstore for the 2010-2011 year is now open!
Malden Catholic partners with MBS Direct book company for your purchase of textbooks. This partnership was formed in part to:
- make your book buying experience more convenient as you will now order books online anytime after July 14th and they are delivered right to your home.
- provide you the opportunity to sell back your books at the end of the year.
- purchase used books online as easily as new books saving you money.
The vitrual bookstore is now open. Use the below link to begin buying your used or new books for the 2010-2011 school year. You may purchase books anytime between now and the start of school. Purchasing early may improve the chances of getting a used copy, if desired. On the web site, you can match your son's course numbers with the books required. On the site you can choose which books for your courses you would like to buy from MBS Direct. You also have the option to purchase books from your friends or elsewhere. Simply click the link below, select the order books icon at the top left and follow the simple process.

If you would prefer to order by telephone, you can call their customer service number at 800-325-3252. Their customer service center is open 7 days a week.
Attention college students!!! You may now buy your college textbooks through MBS Direct, with a small profit going to MC. Follow the above link and click on the Alumni graphic to order your books and help MC!

Frequently Asked Questions from the book buyback process

Do I have to buy or sell my books through MBS Direct? No. You can still sell your books to neighbors or friends or buy books from another source.

When will the booklist for the 10-11 year be released? Titles of required books can be accessed by Course Number on the MBS Direct website starting July 14th. Books should be ordered after schedules arrive home in late July.

When can I begin to purchase books through MBS Direct? July 14th. While you can purchase the books throughout the summer and fall, keep in mind that the earlier you purchase, the more likely you are to have the option to purchase used books and save money.

If I didn't participate in the EZ Book Drop in June, can I still sell my books to MBS Direct? Contact MBS Direct.. (They will only buy books that they have the opportunity to resell. So if you wait too long, they might have already purchased all the books they need and will not buy your book back. You could hold onto those books until the spring when they will be purchasing many books back to build up their stock.)

Do I have to pay shipping costs to sell my books back to MBS Direct? No. You can print a pre-paid shipping label through their web site.

What if my son changes to a different course after purchasing his books? MBS Direct gaurentees that they will buy your books back at full price within 30 days of the start of classes.

Where can I buy MC clothing or other non-book items? The campus store will still be available for those purchases.

Are there books that my son will use again next year? Yes. There are a few books that will be used every year. Do not sell back the following books:
English - Book title: Language Network - use all 4yrs. (9,10, 11, 12)
English - Book title: Vocabulary for the High School Student- 2yrs. (9 & 10)
English - Book title : Vocabulary for the College Bound Student - 2yrs (11 & 12)
Amsco Preparing for the SAT in critical reading and writing - 2yrs ( 9 & 10)
Official SAT Study Guide- 2yrs (11 & 12)
Theology - Holy Bible - 4yrs (9,10,11,& 12)
**Attention Freshmen! When purchasing your Texas Instrument calculators this summer, please hang on to your proof of purchase. We can use it: our Math Department has an arrangement with the company, allowing us some free merchandise with our indication of "volume sales." We'll collect proofs-of-purchase in September. Thanks!
