Student-Athlete of the Week- FALL 2013

 

Sept. 8th-Sept. 14th 2013

Congratulations to Ronan Carrier  ’16 for leading the JV Golf team by shooting a (41), The JV Golf team won its first match of the season against Catholic Memorial at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA, by a score of 278 to 302.

 

 Sept. 15th-21st 2013 

Congratulations to Jason Woods ’15 for his dominate play on the offensive line for the Varsity football team. He has controlled the line of scrimmage in the first two games of the year not allow a single sack.

Sept. 22nd-29th 2013

This week’s student/athlete of the week is Ian Steckel, Ian is a member of the Varsity Soccer Team… he excels both on the field and in the classroom…Returning to soccer his junior year, Ian has proved to be a rock at center midfield. Having scored one goal already this year, his hard work in training and during matches has been paying off. He is an ideal teammate providing support through positive encouragement.

Sept. 29th-Oct. 6th

Congratulations to Carlos Dominquez 15’! Carlos is a member of the Junior Varsity Soccer team… he is a dedicated and hard-working member of the team. Furthermore, Carlos serves the varsity soccer program by freely giving his time by videotaping every home game. Carlos has also brought awareness to both Cancer and Alzheimer by participating in fundraising events.

 Oct. 6th-12th

Congratulations to Derek Packard’ ’15! Following up a strong outdoor track season last year as a freshman, this cross country sophomore athlete led the varsity team for the Lancers at Franklin Park yesterday afternoon with a 14 second personal best of 19:13 for the 3.1 mile course (an average of 6:11/per mile). Derek has been a consistent performer having posted times under 20min for each race so far this season. 

Oct. 13th-19th

Congratulations to Ladi Olatunbosun ’14! Ladi has two touchdowns on the season; a 95 TD reception against Malden and a 35 yard run v. the Prep. He has played multiple positions for the team this season including wide receiver, running back, and defensive end.  He is a team player who quietly does his job to the best of his ability and enthusiastically accepts any role the coaching staff gives him.

 

Congratulations to Michael Moschella ’14 this week’s Athlete of the Week.  Mike is a Senior Captain of the Varsity Golf Team, he shot 79 in the MIAA Division 2 Sectional Tournament  last week at Hillview Country Club.

 

Nov. 3rd- Nov.9th

Congratulations to the Student Athlete of the Week, Nick Lepore, Nick is the Quarterback for the JV Football team and led the Lancers to a 28-0 victory at home against St. Clements this week. While leading the team to its first win, Nick controlled the offense with a 30 yard touchdown pass, scrambled for a 50 yard touchdown, and ran for a 2 point conversion. Congratulations to Nick and the JV Football Team.

 

Nov. 10th – Nov. 16th

Congratulations to this week’s Student Athlete of the Week- Varsity Football’s, Kellen Field ’17, Kellen had 41 carries for 268 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a 2 point conversion in Friday night’s game vs. Billerica Also, Kellen made the Headmaster’s List.

 

 

 

 

 


Student-Athlete of the Week-Winter 2013-14

Week of Dec 8th-15th

Eoghan Myer is a four year member of wrestling team. Eoghan wrestled claimed the gold medal in the Pembroke invitational going 3-0 on the day. Eoghan is one of the top wrestlers in State for his weight class.

 

Week of Dec 16th-23rd

Tyler Sifferlen 2014, a senior captain and four year member of the varsity hockey team. Tyler is committed to Umass/Lowell. That week Tyler had 5 goals and 5 assists to help the Lancers to improve 3-0.

 

Week of Dec. 29th- Jan.4th

Juao-Guilheme Rosa is four year member of the swim team. He is a part of the 400 relay and 200 medley relay team that has qualified for the State Sectionals. His dedication and commitment has helped the Lancers start with a 6-2 record.

 

January 5th – 11th The Indoor Track 4X400 team qualified for the State Sectional and Coaches Elite Meet with a season best time of 3:37.39! Congrats to Andrew Kelly, Nicholas Rodriquez, Peter Ventola, and Matt Curran!

 

January 12th – January 18th

Jack Albanese ’17 of the Freshmen Basketball team has really stood out as a hard worker and strong, albeit quiet, leader on the team.  He has been a defensive stopper and stronger contributor offensively. 

January 19th-January 25th

John McLean ’16 of the Varsity Hockey team had 1 goal and 7 assists in the last three games helping the team beat Central Catholic and Winchester. Also, he has been consisted defender on the blue line helping the teams remind as one of the top ranked teams in New England.

 

January 26th –Feb. 1st

Student- Athletes of the Week is the 200 and 400 Swim Relay Team. Team members Noel Chabonnier, Christopher Flemming, Tim Guinee, Juao-Guilherme Rosa, Conor Schwarze, Tim Smith and Sean Xiao.   

 

Feb. 2nd –Feb. 9th

Joe has averaged 11 points per game including (8) 3 point shots. Joe also had a MC career high 16 points in the 65-55 victory over St. Mary’s of Lynn. Joe was able to accomplish this while playing with 6 stitches just below his eye. He suffered the injury in the St. Mary’s Lynn game. After being patched up, Joe showed great courage and toughness by re-entering the game.

 

 Feb. 16th - Feb. 22nd

Congratulations to Jr. Bryan Smith of the Varsity Wrestling team! Bryan was Student-Athlete of the week, February vacation week, Feb. 16th- 22nd .  Bryan entered the sectional tournament with a 15-15 record.  Bryan upset the #3 seed in the quarterfinals with a first period pin, earning his way to the semi-finals where he lost a tight match against the #1 seed/eventual champ.  Bryan battled back through the consolation brackets beating another higher seeded wrestler from Milton with a great 11-10 victory punching his ticket to states.  Bryan finished the day in 4th place.
